VGCC Offers Architectural Drawing Course

Vance-Granville Community College will offer a basic Architectural Drawing course at the college’s Main Campus in Vance County, starting on Oct. 3. Classes will be held in Room 7136 of Building 7 on Tuesday nights, Oct. 3 through Feb. 20, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This is a follow-up course for students who have taken a basic computer-aided drafting (CAD) class or for students who would like to develop additional skills using the AutoCAD software program. Students must have already taken an AutoCAD class or have a working knowledge of how to use AutoCAD. The focus of this class will be basic residential construction. Students will create drawings of floor plans, foundations, wall sections, and elevations. Gilbert Blaylock will serve as the course’s instructor.

The cost of the course is $60, plus a $3 technology fee. No textbook is required. For more information and to register, call VGCC at (252) 738-3417 or (252) 738-3345.
