VGCC Holds Seminar on Motivating Workers

Vance-Granville Community College’s Small Business Center will offer a free seminar, entitled “Motivating and Training Hourly Workers,” in March. The seminar will be held from 9 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, March 10 in room 7107 of Building 7 on the college’s main campus in Vance County.

Participants will learn how important personnel skills are to success, how to motivate hourly workers who are not performing and how to recognize good employees.

Mike Collins of Wake Forest, president of The Perfect Workday Company, will lead the three-hour seminar. Collins, who has led numerous well-received seminars at VGCC, has a bachelor’s degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and a master’s degree from Duke University.

VGCC Small Business Center Director Diane Finch advised that space is limited for this free seminar. To reserve a seat, pre-register by calling the Small Business Center at (252) 492-2061, ext. 3275 or ext. 3240.
