Quilting Class Delayed 2 Weeks At VGCC Franklin Campus

The 10-week beginner machine quilting class scheduled to begin March 29 at Vance-Granville Community College’s Franklin County Campus has been delayed until April 12.

Quilting instructor Debbie Powell will teach the class that will be held on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon in the new classroom building on the campus west of Louisburg on N.C. 56.

Students will learn how to make different blocks, assemble the top, put on borders, layer and quilt the sampler by machine, and bind the quilt. Powell will cover choosing fabrics for color and value and discuss supplies that will be needed at the first class.

Cost of the class is $37.50. Interested persons are asked to pre-register by calling the Franklin Campus at (919) 496-1567 or the VGCC Continuing Education Office at (252) 738-3616.
