HR Specialist Certificate Program – Now Available at Franklin Campus
VGCC is now offering a HR Specialist Certificate Program on the Franklin Campus this Spring!

The HR specialist course provides participants with a basic understanding of the HR functions, such as Law, Benefits, Employee Relations, Staffing and Recruitment. Participants will learn basic terminology used in the court system and review a variety of employment laws. We’ll also discuss Employee Relations, review laws prohibiting discrimination, and the importance of diversity, and how to manage relationships between employers and employees. Participants will review laws and regulations affecting benefits administration and learn how to apply compensation requirements and prepare a payroll register. Also, the HR Specialist course will provide participants with a basic understanding of Recruitment and Selection functions. We will focus on decision-making for staffing needs of an organization, the recruitment process, and job postings.
